Hank Willis Thomas

“Unbranded: Reflections in Black by Corporate America” is a series of works by Hank Willis Thomas which was just aquired by the Brooklyn Museum. It consists of 82 images from 1968 to 2008. Based on add campaigns targeting a black audience, Hank Willis Thomas took all the messages and logos from the adds “to disclose the visual strategies of advertisers and how these are based in cultural stereotypes.” Hit the jump for more images.
